    Strong evidences for a nonextensive behavior of the rotation period in Open Clusters

    Time-dependent nonextensivity in a stellar astrophysical scenario combines nonextensive entropic indices qKq_{K} derived from the modified Kawaler's parametrization, and qq, obtained from rotational velocity distribution. These qq's are related through a heuristic single relation given by q≈q0(1−Δt/qK)q\approx q_{0}(1-\Delta t/q_{K}), where tt is the cluster age. In a nonextensive scenario, these indices are quantities that measure the degree of nonextensivity present in the system. Recent studies reveal that the index qq is correlated to the formation rate of high-energy tails present in the distribution of rotation velocity. On the other hand, the index qKq_{K} is determined by the stellar rotation-age relationship. This depends on the magnetic field configuration through the expression qK=1+4aN/3q_{K}=1+4aN/3, where aa and NN denote the saturation level of the star magnetic field and its topology, respectively. In the present study, we show that the connection q−qKq-q_{K} is also consistent with 548 rotation period data for single main-sequence stars in 11 Open Clusters aged less than 1 Gyr. The value of qK∼q_{K}\sim 2.5 from our unsaturated model shows that the mean magnetic field topology of these stars is slightly more complex than a purely radial field. Our results also suggest that stellar rotational braking behavior affects the degree of anti-correlation between qq and cluster age tt.     A nonextensive insight to the stellar initial mass function

    the present paper, we propose that the stellar initial mass distributions as known as IMF are best fitted by qq-Weibulls that emerge within nonextensive statistical mechanics. As a result, we show that the Salpeter's slope of ∼\sim2.35 is replaced when a qq-Weibull distribution is used.     Screening of fungal metabolites in Brazil nuts using LC/MS/MS

    The aim of this study was to evaluate quantitatively the occurrence of fungal metabolites in Brazil nuts. Nuts were collected from Agroforest production areas in Amazon basin region. A total of 235 mycotoxins were investigated/screened by a multi-mycotoxin method based on HPLC-MS/MS. The recovery was between 56 and 136%. Fifteen mycotoxins were detected and quantified, in at least one sample; namely, aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, and M1, kojic acid, sterigmatocystin, methyl-sterigmatocystin, citrinin, cyclosporin A, cyclosporin C, cyclosporin D, cyclosporin H, rugulosin, altenariol-methylether and emodin. Aflatoxins were detected in just 1 sample (20%), but above its legal limit in Brazil and EU. Ochratoxin A and Fusarium toxins were not detected. Alternariol-methylether (from 0.75 to 3.2 g.kg-1) was detected in all five samples. This is the first study dealing with the detection of kojic acid, citrinin, cyclosporin A, cyclosporin C, cyclosporin D, cyclosporin H, rugulosin, altenariol-methylether and emodin in Brazil nuts

    No Brasil, as regiões do Cerrado Mineiro e Baiano são destaque pela produtividade e qualidade dos grãos produzidos. A florada desuniforme do café no Brasil implica em frutos com diversos estágios de amadurecimento no período da colheita. Assim, frutos não colhidos oportunamente permanecem na planta ou caem no solo, e quando aproveitados farão parte de uma safra de baixa qualidade. Portanto, foi objetivo deste trabalho estudar frutos de café com exposição prolongada na planta e no solo, avaliando a colonização por fungos micotoxigênicos, a produção de ocratoxina A (OTA) e a dinâmica de umidade e atividade de água nos frutos nessas regiões produtoras. O café com permanência prolongada na planta não apresentou grandes variações nos teores de umidade e atividade de água durante os 120 dias estudados. Entretanto, o café com permanência prolongada no solo, apresentou, após 90 dias, variação drástica nos teores de umidade e atividade de água entre as regiões estudadas. Nesse período, a umidade e atividade de água foram de 14,15% e 0,74, 6,64% e 0,63 para o Cerrado Mineiro e Baiano, respectivamente. Apesar do café com permanência prolongada na planta ter sido intensamente colonizado por Aspergillus ochraceus G. Wilh. (1877), não foi detectada a presença de OTA. No café com permanência prolongada no solo detectaram-se níveis muito elevados, 49,42 e 30,93 ?g.kg-1 de OTA, no Cerrado Mineiro e Baiano, respectivamente. Pode-se constatar que independente da região de interesse, cafés com permanência prolongada na planta ou no solo interferem decisivamente na qualidade do café colhido

    Analysis of Dynamic Effects on the Brazilian Vertical Datum

    This chapter presents a methodology of analyzing the dynamic effect from mean sea level variations, based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data, velocity models, tide gauge observations, and satellite altimetry data. GNSS observations were processed in order to obtain the variation of up coordinate required to identify the possible crust movements. Velocity model served as a comparative basis to verify the obtained results from the GNSS data processing and served as a basis for analyzing the time periods without GNSS information. Tide gauge data were used to evaluate the sea level temporal evolution in the Imbituba Brazilian Vertical Datum (I-BVD). Satellite altimetry data were used for checking the results from the GNSS and the tide gauge time series. The analyses were based on time series of observations by GNSS from 2007 until 2016, tide gauge from 1948 until 1968 and 2001 until 2016, and satellite altimetry data from 1991 until 2015 from different missions. As basis for the analysis, it used GNSS SIRGAS-CON stations, the SIRGAS velocity model (VEMOS), and NUVEL velocity model. Considering the discrimination of the crust vertical movement (GNSS processing) from the results obtained with the tide gauge observations, it was observed that there is an evidence of mean sea level (MSL) rising approximately +2.24 ± 0.4 mm/year

    Multiscale structure of the gravitational wave signal from GW150914 based on the nonextensivity qq-triplet

    We study the first gravitational wave, GW150914, detected by advanced LIGO and constructed from the data of measurement of strain relative deformation of the fabric of spacetime. We show that the time series from the gravitational wave obeys Tsallis's qq-Gaussian distribution as a probability density and its dynamics evolve of the three associated Tsallis' indices named qq-triplet. This fact strongly suggests that these black hole merger systems behave in a non-extensive manner. Furthermore, our results point out that the entropic indexes obtained as a function of frequency are useful statistical parameters to determine the dominant frequency when black hole coalescence is achieved.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figure
